Giardino di Zoppola
The legend says that the park was created by a great-uncle of the current owners, Francesco Panciera di Zoppola, who graduated from university with a degree in medicine towards the end of the 1800s and went to a famous medical school in Berlin for his specialization. During this period he was a guest at the Prussian court and while visiting the court gardens he was captivated by the beauty of one of them. It fascinated him so much that he reproduced the garden in miniature on Friulian soil.
A gracefully-arranged garden was created following the Romantic criteria with an enchanting bridge, a lush green lawn and trees typical of this zone: yews, firs, Lebanon cedars and bald cypresses (Taxodium Distichum, from the sequoia family). Up to 30 years ago paths and flowerbeds decorated the lawn but now a natural environment is preferred.
