Many characteristic restaurants can be found in the village of Corno di Rosazzo next to the Castle of Gramogliano. A charming restaurant in Corno di Rosazzo is All’Armistizio; in the nearly town of Cormons La Subida; and in Cividale del Friuli Al Castello or Al Fortino. If you want to stay overnight in a quaint agritourism accommodation Zoff at locality Gallo has several rooms. Gallo can be reached by public coach service.
The Visintini Andrea winery is a family-run business consisting of 22 hectares of vineyards, for the most part located on the Colli Orientali del Friuli (Eastern Hills of Friuli) with a minimum part subdivided among Collio, Grave and Isonzo, all areas which produce D.O.C. wines.
The Visintini family has been cultivating their vineyards with passion for generations. This area is one of the best for wine growing, with a marly soil (the so-called "ponca") which is optimally suitable for hillside viticulture. Here native vines are cultivated such as Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, and other vines such as Sauvignon, Traminer Aromatico, Moscato Giallo, Riesling, Malvasia, Cabernet, Merlot and Franconia.
Visintini’s philosophy is: “the less wine is handled the better”. In this manner the aroma and taste of the grapes remain unaltered. The only interventions carried out are the use of air-pressured presses (exercising only a soft pressure), equipment to control the fermentation (to maintain aroma and fragrance) and static decantation (affording a natural clarity to the wine). These limited but targeted interventions produce wines which are fresh, fruity and smooth.
