Abbazia di Rosazzo
The Abbey of Rosazzo is situated amidst beautiful undulating hills north-east of Manzano. Since there is no overnight accommodation nearby, ten rooms have been created within the abbey for overnight visitors; a small room is now being converted into a bar. The abbey provides catering services upon request. For wine lovers prestigious local wines can be savoured at the cellar, located within the antique defence walls of the abbey, run by the Filipputti agricultural business.
Public transportation is not provided in nearby towns.
The reception hall known as Sala della vite e dell’uva (10x8x5m) is placed on the ground floor and faces the monastery. There is one main entrance to the hall from the courtyard outside; the hall has three other inside doorways. The hall is heated; there is only one emergency exit. The Venetian terrazzo flooring, the walls completely covered with 17th century frescoes, and the wooden beamed ceiling all blend together to create an atmosphere full of character. On a clear day from a balcony on the southern side of the room a sweeping vista can be enjoyed which begins with the dwellings of Manzano, continues to those of Cormons, going on all the way to the sea.
The reception hall is capable of holding up to 80 people and is equipped with an adjustable lighting system. The modern bathrooms are heated. There are two heated adjoining rooms, suitable for 30 people. At the moment this hall is not equipped for conferences. It is available year-round for dinners and parties.
A second reception hall, Sala della palma, (15x9x3m) is also placed on the ground floor of the abbey. There are four entrances to the hall, meeting modern safety standards: two entrances are from the cloister, one is from the church yard, and one is from the anteroom. The hall has two emergency exits and is heated. The sombre atmosphere is created by the Venetian terrazzo flooring and the wooden beamed ceiling contrasting with the white washed walls.
It can seat up to 100 people; the lighting system is adjustable, there is a large table which can be used at conferences. The bathrooms are modern and heated. Adjunctant to the hall is a smaller room (4x6x3m) which can be used to hold other 15 people or used as a cloak room. Available year-round.
